Jaundice anyone ECG leadwire

Turning moments into art.

Our son was born on the 7th. We stayed in the hospital the full 48 hours because of me being GBS+ and only receiving one dose of the antibiotics (he came too fast). Two days later at the follow up visit (to check on his wellbeing due to my GBS status and only receiving one course of antibiotics) we were told that he looked very jaundice, and they used the probe on him, which prompted the blood test. We were then immediately admitted to the hospital because his bili score was 22. We stayed there for 24 hours with him under the lights and pushing fluids. ECG leadwire The score came down to 15 and that's when we were discharged. Evey day since then we've had follow up appointments to test his blood for the score (which is heart wrenching to watch) and the first day of went from 15 to 15.3, then the next day it went from 15.3 to 15.1, now today its back up to 15.8 and they don't want to see us tomorrow (even though the office is open all weekend) but they're following up with another visit on Monday. We've had him on the bili blanket consistently except for diaper changes and the doctor appointments, yet the score keeps fluctuating. I'm so discouraged with that by itself. But to add to that, he had severe latch issues since the hospital stay and yesterday he seemed to take a turn for the better with his latching. He nursed at the breast all day yesterday (his weight even went up a whole ounce over night) and today all day he's back to refusing the breast and he's very lethargic. I'm so discouraged! I'm so scared that his score is going to keep rising over the next two days since he's not getting checked and that's been the pattern. Would you demand daily visits over the weekend or just follow their plan? Also, has anyone on here gone through this or are currently going through this? This frazzled, emotional mama could really use a jaundice buddy. I'm about shot emotionally. I hate seeing him go through this .

I'm sorry you're going through this! My lo was hospitalized at 3 days old for jaundice and it was very stressful. He wasn't getting enough at the breast and his lips were dry and I hated seeing him crying under the light wanting me and not being able to hold him. As far as the bili levels I was told they naturally get higher as baby gets older. So while we were admitted to the hospital at 18, it was down to 11 when we were discharged. When I brought him in the day after discharge to check his levels she didnt even bother with the heel prick because she said at that age (I want to say 5 days old) he'd have to be at a 22.

The lethargy and not wanting to eat would concern me. Disposable Spo2 sensor How is his color? Is he making wet diapers? Your doctor should have a nurses line you can call, or try calling the hospital where he was admitted before. If you can pump, try pumping and using a syringe to feed your lo.

Whoops sorry I thought I wrote it haha. We just got the results from the last test, 11.4. I'm waking him every two hours instead of two and a half to feed to try to flush it out. I feed from the boob for 10 15 minutes on each side and then supplement with 10 15ml of formula just to try to get it out. We've had one really good poop way earlier today and the staff was really encouraging so I'm hoping he poops after his next feeding so that he makes some improvement. I'm waiting to hear what else the pediatrician wants to do. He got circumcised this morning so that's not helping either
